The South Thailand SeaCanoe Adventure departs Sunday mornings from Phuket and returns the following Friday afternoons. We guarantee this trip throughout the year. Naturally, itineraries may change to insure weather-related safety.
A maximum 24 persons guarantees individual attention and safety, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Thailand's premier outdoor experience gives you a 6-day opportunity to learn sea canoeing, enjoy authentic rural island culture and gain an in-depth perspective of this magical area. Everything is included except personal items, shopping and alcoholic beverages.
Checklist of items to bring: -
- Toothpaste, toothbrush, washcloth, towel and soap
- Hat and Sunscreen (SPF 15 or greater)
- Gloves for paddling and diving
- Binoculars and camera (preferably waterproof)
- Two or three swimsuits
- Two or three T-shirts
- Personal items (combs, hairbrush, lotions, insect repellent)
- Light sweatshirt or windbreaker
- Sunglasses with safety straps
- Small amount of cash for soft drinks or beer at Po Bay
- Jewelry and makeup are not necessary and easily lost
Day 1 - Sunday The first day of this trip is fully guided in our self designed inflatable kayaks. Your guide will paddle for you through complex tidal sea caves into lagoons. This will allow you to relax and enjoy the ambiance of Phang Nga Bay. During the afternoon, we provide training for our single seater hard shell Sit On Top kayaks.
08:00-08:30 Pick-up from your hotel by Sea Canoe mini bus.
09:00 Arrive at Ao Po pier and depart. Motor to the Islands.
10:00 Arrive first island - explore caves and lagoons.
12:00 Lunch on the escort boat.
13:30 Arrive second island for more cave exploration and circumnavigation of islands. Traverse 300m cave into giant lagoon.
15:30 Arrive and make camp on island beach - basic kayak training.
19:00 Dinner on board .Return to camping beach and relax.
Day 2 - Monday Guests paddle their own single-seater hard-shell sit-on-top kayaks during days 2 through 6.
08:00 Break camp. Depart for North Koh Yai Noi on escort boat. Breakfast on board.
9:30 Paddle North Koh Yao Noi and Big Tree Bay. Hike to the giant Ficus.
12:30 Lunch on board.
13:30 Paddle 1km crossing to Lagoon Island. Circumnavigate Lagoon Island. This island is home to many crab eating monkeys and giant fruit bats.
16:30 Board escort boat and depart for our next camping site on Koh Nok
Dinner on board .Return to camping beach and relax.
Day 3 - Tuesday 07:00 Break camp. Breakfast on board.
09:00 Paddle around Koh Chong Lat. This 1,500 foot island has stunning cliffs, the "Blue Room",a three chamber stalactite grotto, and an unusually beautiful channel on the way back to camp. We often see porpoise outside the Blue Room, along with monkeys, water monitors, White Bellied Sea Eagles and Bramany kites.
12:30 Lunch on board.
13:30 Motor to Koh Klui. Circumnavigate Koh Klui. Another beautiful red limestone island with an Irregular coastline.
15:30 Board escort boat and depart for Laem Taeng. Arrive Laem Taeng and make camp.
19:00 Thai seafood dinner. Sunset paddle.
Day 4 - Wednesday 06:30 Sunrise paddle. Breakfast on board.
09:00 Depart Hong Yai. Hong Yai is 2km deep, with an exceptionally beautiful sea arch, stalactite encrusted overhang and Hong, our only lagoon inside a lagoon. Hong Yai,
essentially a tidal canyon with heavily wooded 1,000 foot cliffs, is filled with a tidal
mangrove swamp. We always see kingfishers, and often see both Gibbons and Langurs. Sea
otters are occasionally sighted.
12:00 Lunch on the escort boat.
13:30 Paddle back down Laem Taeng to Mangrove Maze. Paddle along a 5K cliff where we frequently see Gibbons. Extremely picturesque. Explore the Mangrove Maze, a giant crater of disintegrating limestone islands filled with mangrove. Paddling down the
channels brings a surprise around every bend.
14:30 Board escort boat and depart for Koh Pak Bia to make camp for the night. Dinner on board.
Day 5 - Thursday
06:30 Sunrise paddle, Breakfast on board.
09:00 Circumnavigate Koh Pak Bia and neighboring islands. Rendezvous with escort boat. Lunch on the way to Koh Bele.
13:00 Arrive Koh Bele'. Paddle into the giant lagoon and circumnavigate Koh Bele', with three white sand beaches, snorkeling on coral reefs (Bring your own snorkel gear). Withexcellent limestone geology, Koh Bele' (Koh Hong ) is considered the Jewel of the Bay.
17:00 Make camp at Koh Bele' (Koh Hong )
19:00 Dinner on board.

Day 6 - Friday 07:30 Break camp. Breakfast on board.
08:30 Escort boat rendezvous and transfer to Talin.
09:30 Paddle into False gorge and Krabi Klong, a stunning 2km gorge, circling back into a mangrove channel at the base of the island to Gibbon Hong.

14:00 Board escort boat and return to Ao Po pier.Return to Ao Po for your transfer back to hotel or airport

Rainy Season (May to mid-November). Rains are generally sporadic and welcome for their cooling effect and photo opportunities they present. Seas remain calm and we do more cave camping (on sand beaches in dry sea caves).
