You feel worlds away when staying in the comfort of your airconditioned floating Raft Room at the River Kwai Village Hotel. Your experience includes an elephant ride and a relaxing trip on the River Kwai by bamboo raft. In Kanchanaburi you have the chance to get an insight into the perilous lives of prisoners of war, as well as enjoying the rest of this beautiful region, best known for the infamous Bridge over the River Kwai.
Day 1 Bangkok
Today is free to get familiar with Thailand's capital, Bangkok - the very epitome of a modern, steamy Asian metropolis.
Day 2 Kanchanaburi
Visit the WWII War Museum and the Allied War Cemetery. Take a train ride on the notorious 'Death Railway' and a boat ride on the Kwai Noi River to visit Kaeng Lava Cave.
Day 3 River Kwai
Visit the historic Hell Fire Pass where activities include an elephant ride through the jungle on one of the village's working elephants and a relaxing bamboo raft trip down the river.
Days 4-5 Bangkok
You have free time to use the resort's facilities - perhaps enjoy a Thai herbal massage or explore the natural surroundings. Arrive back in Bangkok in time for an evening meal and a chance for some last minute shopping.
