From ancient kingdoms to majestic mountain vistas, trek for ten days through the breathtaking Himalaya landscape. Pass awe-inspiring glaciers, stay on the banks of pristine rivers, cross mountain pastures, dip into natural hot springs and encounter mule trains taking supplies to remote villages. Rest and revive in cosy mountain teahouses and meet friendly locals along the way. Time spent in Kathmandu and Pokhara completes the adventure with insights into Nepali culture and tradition.
Days 1-2 Kathmandu
Modern and historical, Kathmandu swarms with life and colour. Meet the monkeys while climbing to Swayambhunath, walk around the mammoth Bodhnath Stupa and delve into the magical history of Durbar Square.
Day 3 Bhaktapur
The ancient city of Bhaktapur is a haven of intricate temples, grand old palaces and vibrant courtyards. Few cars enter the Old City, so wandering through the paved streets and narrow alleyways offers a sense of what Kathmandu was like before the modern world came knocking.
Day 4 Pokhara
Temples and palaces are replaced by soaring mountains and mirror-like lakes. Once on the vibrant trade route between India and Tibet, Pokhara later became a hippy hangout. These days it is the gateway to some of Nepal's greatest treks.
Days 5-14 Annapurna Ranges
Trek through lowland pastures and peaceful villages, past thundering waterfalls and powerful glaciers, constantly surrounded by unspeakably beautiful landscapes. Stay in basic teahouses operated by the locals and learn about the daily lives of the Nepali hill people. Witness spectacular sunrises over the ranges and perhaps even investigate the lofty Poon Hill disco. While the Annapurna Sanctuary trek is challenging, it is a great way to experience the mountains without the major issues associated with high altitude - the optional trek to the Annapurna Base Camp is the greatest elevation reached.
Days 15-16 Pokhara
The final stretch is downhill all the way. Back in Pokhara enjoy a well-earned shower and plenty of time to relax, recover and reminisce.
