Welcome to the “Land of the Never Never” as we explore the wilderness out tropics. We start at the unique city of Darwin that has risen from WW2 and Cyclone Tracy. We then tour through the remote areas of Australia’s outback and changing landscapes to the Queensland border.

Enjoy the days hiking, swimming, canoeing and fishing as we travel through the National Parks, cattle centres and mining towns. Crossing the Atherton Tablelands we finish this tour at Cairns, another tropical delight.

Day 1 Darwin to Katherine Gorge (LD)
Leave Darwin behind as we enter Litchfield National Park famous for it’s water falls, wildlife and giant Termite mounds. On the way to Katherine Gorge pass Pine Creek.
Watch the sunset over the Gorge from waters edge. Camp overnight at Katherine Gorge.

Day 2 Katherine Gorge to Roper Bar (BLD)
It’s an early wake up today enjoy breakfast whilst cruising on Katherine gorge. After breaking camp we travel south to the Never Never country. Relax in the Thermal spring before making camp for the night at Roper Bar.

Day 3 Roper Bar to Borroloola (BLD)
Today we travel through Limmen national parks stopping at Butterfly springs and the  Lost City Rock formations before making camp in Borroloola for the night

Day 4 Borroloola to Hells Gate (BLD)
Today we leave the Northern Territory behind and enter the sunshine state. Take in the signs of Wearyon waterhole and Falls. Camp over night at Hells Gate

Day 5  Hells Gate  to Lawn Hill (BLD)
Visit the Aboriginal community of Doomadgee ss we travel through the vast savannah plains of north west Queensland on the way to the Gorge region of Lawn Hill which will be our camp for the next two nights

Day 6  Lawn Hill  (BLD)
Visit the World Heritage Riversleigh fossil fields, then spend the afternoon relaxing by the gorge.

Day 7 Lawn Hill to Karumba  (BLD)
A relaxed start to the day has us heading to Karumba today stopping at Leichhardt Falls and the Mutton Hole Wetlands. Camp over night at Karumba, tonight we spot crocodiles from the safety of a river boat.

Day 8 Karumba to Undara (BLD)
Visit the barramundi discovery centre before heading to Undara to tour the Lava tubes. Camp tonight at Undara

Day 9 Undara to Atherton Tablelands (BLD)
Relax at the Innot hot springs then onto the old timber town of Ravenshoe before making camp at Atherton.

Day 10 Atherton  to Cairns  (BL)
As we head towards Cairns we enter the Wet Tropics as we travel over the tablelands stopping at Kuranda and Barron falls arriving in Cairns early afternoon.
